Original 16 believes in celebrating things done well. This Earth Day, April 22, 2023 we celebrate you - for planting a tree right here in Western Canada simply by enjoying a smooth and refreshing 15 can pack of Original 16 beer.
Original 16 is proud to partner with the Blue Green Planet Project and Sobeys Liquor to plant trees in Western Canada. From April 20-26, 2023, we will fund the planting of one tree in Western Canada for every 15 can pack of Original 16 beer sold at all participating Sobeys, Safeway and Thrifty Foods Liquor locations in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.
So how are we getting this done? We’re leaving the planting to the experts - we’ve partnered with the Blue Green Planet Project to plant the trees on our (and your) behalf.
Blue Green Planet Project is about businesses restoring the planet. They’ve created a nature-based sustainability service company focused on restoring forests in Canada — enhancing carbon sequestration and ecosystem health while supporting rural and indigenous communities. They use their experience and networks to develop projects and mobilize resources to plant trees that would not otherwise be planted.
As an independent, Western Canadian brewery we are excited to work with BGPP to drive tree planting initiatives in the region that we are so proud to call home – we believe that is something worth celebrating!
